Torre del Mar Golf

Añoreta golf, the first golf course in the Axarquía is already operating near Rincón de la Victoria and there are projects for more courses in Nerja and Torrox. Built in 1925, Real Club de Campo de Malaga was the first course in the Costa del Sol and host to the European Tour’s Turespana Masters in 1999. Originally founded by the spanish royal family, the club is the oldest in Andalucia and holds a certain distinction to it from its history and traditions. The course was designed by Tom Simpson who is particularly known for designing the famous golf courses Turnberry and Muirfield in Scotland. This Championship course can be described as partly a links course and partly a parkland course. It's here where you will enjoy a multitude of exotic parakeets if you're lucky! The course has it's own character compared to most other courses at the coast and it is both a challenge for the experienced golfer and kindly for the less experienced between us. The course is still owned by the state and part of the Parador.

Founded in 1990, Guadalhorce is located about 8 kilometres land inwards west of Málaga and very close to Torre del Mar. The club has a typical english parkland style front 9, and a spectacular back 9 with tropical vegetation and challenging water hazards. The fairways on the front 9 are tracing the contours of the undulated area while the back 9 is sited in an area where some earth movement was necessary resulting in a different kind of course with raised greens and lakes. Both the front and back nine have two shared greens. Guadalhorce, designed by Kosti Kuronen, has a magnificent Andalucian style clubhouse and offers several other facilities like tennis courts, a swimming pool and a sauna. The course was the venue for the 1999 Spanish Professional Golfer's Championship.
